Duncan coral Duncanopsammia axifuga short
Duncanopsammia is a legendary Australian LPS coral. It closely resembles the orange Sun Coral however it is photosynthetic and does not require as much feeding but will benefit from some food particles. The intense green coloration of its tissue will vary greatly under different types of light. Under actinic lights it really glows. This Duncan has an extensive captive history and originates from a frag of the colony seen on the cover of The Reef Aquarium, Volume 1 by Julian Sprung. This unique growth form is fast growing and the branches form a tight cluster as opposed to the more typical long branching variety that is currently being imported.
