Soft corals are some of the least demanding of corals and most are easy to keep and considered for the beginner. They are soft and fleshy corals that do not lay down a calcium carbonate skeleton, and are generally more tolerant of poor water quality, so do better in aquariums with higher nutrients. This category includes Leathers and Toadstools, Mushrooms, Zoas and an array of encrusting clove polyps.
