Acanthastrea echinata blue
Acanthastrea echinata, are commonly known as acans or the starry cup coral. This species of coral is in the family Lobophylliidae. Acans are a wide-ranging species found from the western Indian Ocean, throughout the Pacific Ocean, and eastward to the southeastern Atlantic Ocean. It can inhabit any reef habitat to depths of 50 m. It is a hungry coral that does benifit from night feeding and a little nutrient in the reef aquarium.
