Acropora Microclados AKA Strawberry shortcake is an SPS coral of the genus Acroporidae. It is found throughout the Indo-Pacific. and from Australia to japan. It was first described by Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg in 1834. Found in marine, tropical shallow reefs on the upper slopes, it is found at depths of 5 to 20 m. It is listed as a vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List, and its population is decreasing. which is why, apart from its beauty is a sort after coral.
Acropora’s are generally for the more experienced aquarist with aquariums having matured for at least a year. Acropora corals are generally branching or tabling and have some of the most striking colours in the coral world.
