Hydnophora Rigida ultra green
Hydnophora Rigida ultra green is commonly known as horn coral. They are found in reefs thoughout the Indo-pacific and are in the genus Hydnophora. They were first described by Dana in 1846. So very long lived with in the hobby. Their color is naturally neon green but other browns, or sometimes creams are found. They have the formation of an SPS but are widely considered an LPS.
These can be considered as the progression towards sps and Acropora corals. Many do appreciate higher plankton levels, but still appreciate good water quality. The genus does also have a couple of encrusting types.

Lighting: Medium to high
Flow: Medium to High
Feeding: Relies on zooxanthellae but will accept small food particles.
Aggressiveness: Aggressive but has no swiping tentacles. needs growing space.
Supplements: Calcium, Magnesium, Strontium and Iodine
